ok, well i'm going to go with a cloud recommendation from the low cloud group - Cumulus humils! Described as having minimal vertical extent, they look flattened and wider than they are tall. Apparently they do not cause precipitation. Also they are not to be confused with stratocumulus or altocumulus!
